i started working on the lettuce garden memorial day weekend... that is to say, i started building the rabbit fence at that time.
mike helped me finish the fence, and today i put brick pavers around it to help keep the rabbits from digging under it. then i planted the lettuce.
...then i read online that lettuce does well with mulch around it to keep the ground cool. we didn't have any mulch, so mike took me to a local park where the city puts piles of mulch, and we got enough for the garden and then some. (for free!)
so here is a photo of the new lettuce garden. there is also a sweet pepper plant and a jalapeno plant. the lettuces look really unhappy today. i hope that they recover from the transplant!
