they've been keeping us so busy here -- i feel like we've been here for two weeks.
we are getting to know our classmates: Elli, Ale, C.J., L.T., Ciara, Lauren (the other Lauren), Andrea, and we're still waiting for Mark and Kimberly and kids to arrive!
yesterday we went to Errebache, an Emberra village on a river, and then to a wedding between two staff members, Emilio from Panama and Sylvia from Germany. today, we went to church in Gamboa and then did a bit of a tour of Panama City. i think we get to relax a bit tonight :)

Good to hear from you two. They are keeping you busy aren't they! What's the weather like? What are your new digs like? Can you drink the water there? Questions questions I know.
It's hot and humid, but actually cooler than it was when we visited in January. It's fairly cloudy most of the time and that and the rain keep it cooler.
We can drink the water at the base because we're in the canal zone and the U.S. developed the water treatment here.
Mike and I lucked out somehow and got the "teacher's room" for the first two weeks. That means we have a bedroom with a full size bed (+ a bunk bed) as well as a "den" and bathroom with shower. There is an air conditioner in the room, as well, but we'd have to pay to use that and it's really not that terrible as long as we use the fan.

Sounds like you've got it made at least for the first 2 weeks! Good that you go without the AC. It may help you acclimate to the climate in case you have to move to a place without it.
